In a world filled with various ideologies and beliefs, it can be a challenge to navigate the complexities of morality. For Christians, the Bible serves as a foundational guide in understanding right from wrong and living a life that aligns with God's will.

Morality, when viewed through the lens of faith, takes on a deeper meaning and significance. It is not just about following a set of rules or guidelines, but about embodying the attributes of Christ. Qualities such as, love, integrity, justice and mercy are all central to the Christian faith. By deepening our understanding of morality, we can strengthen our relationship with God and live a more purposeful and fulfilling life.

One of the keyways to deepen your Christian faith through moral insights is to study the teachings of the Bible. Contrary to modern beliefs, morality is not subjective, it is objective and holds true universally. The idea that morality is subjective defeats the whole purpose of morality, because then there is no concrete definition of right and wrong. I know you wouldn't want to live in such a society where everyone follows their own "wonderful" idea of right and wrong, without a doubt that would be chaotic.

"Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness." (1 John 3:4)

The Christian holds that morality is objective and universal, God being the author and source of morality, speaks to us through His word. The scripture plainly says "whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. (James 4:17) We all are born with an inner compass, and our conscious is evidence of that. However, we have a tendency to ignore our conscience, and in pursuit of our selfish desires, we often violate it. It is through the scripture that we are taught a more accurate way concerning right and wrong. The Bible is rich with stories, principles, proverbs, songs, and other modes of communication that offer timeless wisdom on how to live a life that is pleasing to God. By immersing yourself in the word of God, you can gain a better understanding of the moral principles that should guide your actions and decisions.

The truth is our level of understanding is nowhere near the level of God's. the proverbial writer assures us that it's best to Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6). This is another principle that's valuable. I remember as a young boy, my brothers and I would play at a park across from our house with our neighborhood friends. We would do this for hours, but my mom had a rule, we had to be back in our house before the streetlights turned on. As young, rowdy, energetic kids we thought she was trying to limit the fun we were having. Our understanding was narrow and limited. In actuality she understood that crazy things happen at night and was protecting us. We all once were children led by our parents, told to brush our teeth every night, and were given bedtimes. We did not understand fully, the love our parents had for us. How much more does God love us and want to protect us! But in our own naive minds we believe he wants to hamper and restrict us. I encourage you all to test this principle. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, test His words, when you are reading and he tells you to do something, just do it, and see how it goes. By being humbly honest with yourself, you can take steps towards living a more morally upright life. Deepen your faith by engaging in fellowship and conversations with other like-minded individuals. Sharing perspectives and ideas with fellow believers can offer new insights and perspectives you may have never considered. The natural reward that comes with learning from others and engaging in meaningful dialogue, is the broadening of your faith.

Deepening your faith through is a rewarding and transformative journey. By studying the teachings of the Bible, reflecting on your beliefs, and engaging with others, you can strengthen your relationship with God and live a life that is guided by principles that were embodied by Christ. Embracing Christian morality not only enriches your faith but also empowers you to make a positive impact on the world around you.
